Shonda photographed our recommitment ceremony (re-wedding) in October 2020 at the chapel in Hartwick Pines. COVID canceled our plans for a big ceremony in front of family and friends, but instead of falling back to next year, we made a late-summer decision to throw together an elopement-style vow renewal with just the kids as guests. We needed a photographer whose style would capture the day as it actually was: the immense natural beauty of Hartwick Pines, the darkness and intimacy of the chapel, and the emotion of this second start for us and for our kids. We also needed a photographer who would take the time to listen to our unusual story, whom we could trust understood what it meant to all of us. Shonda fulfilled those needs and more! She was comfortable to be around (for both us and the kids), put us at ease through the whole experience (despite us being awkward engineers who don't usually enjoy having our photos taken!), and truly captured the day exactly as it exists in our memories. We are wowed by the photos: every detail preserved in a documentary style with a focus on the emotion of each moment, so we can remember it forever and share it with all who couldn't be there. Every comment we've received from those we shared the gallery with have commented on how outstanding they are: the emotion, the beauty of the setting, the deepness and richness of them, we've gotten a lot of emails with the word \"magical\" in them! Truly, Shonda's forest photography skills are magical. we could not have chosen a better photographer for our most important of days.
