This dark Nordic-styled vow renewal was truly magical and I am so excited to share my photos with you. It’s an intimate promise that, amidst life’s ebb and flow, your devotion will remain unwavering. This vow renewal took place on Northern Michigan’s Sturgeon River at the Fernside A-frame. A quaint embodiment of rustic charm with its cozy and secluded ambiance, serving as the perfect backdrop for this magical ceremony.
Uniting dark Nordic elegance with rustic Michigan charm
This vow renewal veered far from the ordinary. The theme was carefully crafted by myself and my good friend Andrea, an amazing elopement photographer from Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. This was brought together with an elegant black dress paired with a black crystal tiara headband, a black tunic with a black fur stole over his shoulders, and a deer skull crowning the arch, symbolizing the raw beauty and strength of love that endures.
The food selections were thoughtfully chosen to reflect the unique vibe of the day. A buffalo chicken flatbread pizza from Paddle Hard Brewing and a dark-themed charcuterie board, assembled by yours truly, served as an exploration of flavors and textures. A chocolate berry cake that was handcrafted by Andrea, embodying the dark aesthetic with every berry. The cocktail mixes, provided by the aptly named Let’s Stay Home, added a personalized touch to this magical evening. Each element is a nod to the surrounding natural beauty of Northern Michigan.
